Association trainer Q&A: Gianluca
Kroton wouldn’t be Kroton without its association trainers! For Gianluca, one of our most experienced association trainers, this is already the 3rd season he’s giving training in Kroton! This year he is even giving training to two teams, Ladies 3 & Ladies 5! Along with that, he’s also fanatic about coaching many teams, such as Ladies 1. He’s also one of the trainers that is helping us create a Trainer Drive for next year’s trainers, with all the necessary information and helpful tips to get anyone started! Gianluca has also completed the VT2 course and got the first license to being a trainer.
Read below for a little Q&A with Gianluca on giving training!
Are you interested in giving training next year? Let us know here!
Why did you decide to give training?
I really enjoy volleyball, and I knew Kroton needed trainers and so I thought that maybe even if I wasn’t the most experienced trainer back then, I could still help others and share my bit of knowledge.
What is your favorite part about being a trainer?
My favorite part of being a trainer is that while giving training, I also improve my own game. While teaching you really analyze what you’ve learned and must think more on how to simplify it and apply it better.
How do you prepare a good training?
For me, which is what I’ve learned in the VT2 course, is that the goal of the training should be reflected throughout the whole training. If the goal is passing, you do different kind of passing exercises where it gets more complex with each exercise. It should be building up and reflected in each part of the training.
What are you most excited for about the Trainer Drive?
It will help me build a new arsenal of training and to see what other trainers do.
What do you think makes a good trainer?
A good trainer is someone that can communicate their ideas in a way anyone can understand. But honestly, it doesn’t need to be something you’re good at first, it’s a learning experience. Once you build that confidence, anybody can be good at it!
Will you give training next year too?
Yes!!
